Thai police confirm Bangkok bombs against Israel

17.02.2012
Bangkok
The Thai police say the bombs that exploded in Bangkok and for which two Iranian were arrested were to be used against Israelis diplomats. Israeli personalities had already said the group was part of a terrorist network, responsible for the attacks in India and Georgia in recent days.
Thai police chief Gen. Prewpan Dhamapong, also said that the type of explosives found in the house of the arrested is similar to that used to strike a diplomatic car in Delhi and Tbilisi. The dynamics were the same: the bomb was grafted on a magnet that was to be "attached" to a car (v: 14/02/2012 Ehud Barak blames Iran for attacks, as an Iranian is hurt in Bangkok).
Thai authorities are checking whether the two Iranians arrested are part of a larger terrorist group. Two of them were arrested in Bangkok, and another was arrested yesterday in Malaysia after fleeing from Bangkok to Kuala Lumpur.
The three were identified as Saeid Moradi, who lost a leg to escape by throwing a grenade at police; Kharzei Mohammad, arrested in Bangkok airport as he tried to flee to Malaysia; Sedaghatzadeh Masoud, the Iranian arrested in Malaysia.
