A Malaysian shoe brand and a dating agency made international headlines when their 'shoe dating service' was highlighted by a celebrity gossip blog.

'Buy A Pair Of Shoes In Malaysia, Get A Man For Free!?!?' screamed the cocoperez.com headline. Celebrity blogger Perez Hilton picked up the story from the March 11 Clove pullout of The Star about a quirky project by Shoes, Shoes, Shoes and a dating agency, Lunch Actually.

Mr Perez, notorious for being mean towards celebrities, blogged: 'What do U think about this shoe dating service? Would U try it???'

The story also made it to the online counterpart of New York Magazine, Glamour magazine, the International Business Times, Yahoo! Shine and huffingtonpost.com.
