14.03.2012
A Malaysian van driver was killed after his vehicle was involved in a collision with a multi-purpose vehicle (MPV) along Malaysia's North-South Expressway on Tuesday.
A passenger in the van and six others in the MPV escaped with minor injuries in the accident at KM375.6 of the expressway near the Slim River.
Bernama news agency quoted Acting Perak Traffic Police Chief DSP Mohamad Roy Suhaimi as saying the six injured from the MPV were members of a family from Singapore.
He said all the injured were sent to the Slim River hospital and given outpatient treatment.
DSP Mohamad Roy said the incident occurred at about 3pm when the MPV skidded and crashed into the van after its (MPV) driver lost control of the vehicle when one of the tyres burst. He said both vehicles were heading south.
