Indonesian Judicial System in Shambles ?

25.02.2012
Indonesians ask if the punishment really fits the crime in a justice system riddled with corruption and incompetence.
Indonesia prides itself on being a democratic nation, but Indonesians says that its justice system does not reflect the country’s progress.
Riddled with corruption and incompetent investigative procedures, trials and sentences are often deemed unfair.
Wealthy or politically influential suspects are often able to buy themselves out of a trial, while poorer suspects face abuse in prison.
A teen who stole a pair of sandals gets five years prison.
