Revenge For Qur’an Burning: Suicide bomber attacks NATO base

A suicide bomber has killed at least two civilians at the gates of the NATO base where copies of the Qur’an were burned, Afghan officials said. The bomber targeted a vehicle belonging to the NATO-led forces on Bagram airfield, detonating explosives on Monday. A NATO spokeswoman said no coalition troops had been harmed in the attack, Reuters reports. The authorities say the Taliban claimed responsibility for the attack, adding it was “revenge” for the Qur’an burning.
