Iran threatens to cut oil to more EU countries

20.02.2012
Tehran may extend an oil embargo on France and Britain to other European countries, the National Iranian Oil Company said on Monday. The company’s head, Ahmad Qalehbani, warned that crude exports may be stopped to EU member states if they continue “hostile acts” against Iran. Qalehbani said that oil prices could possibly pass $150 per barrel, the Mehr news agency reports. Oil prices jumped to nearly $105 a barrel in Asia on Monday. Iran says it will halt exports to Britain and France.
