Malaysian MIG-29 Storm Singapore Skies at Airshow

19.02.2012
Malaysia’s guardian angels are keeping a rare watch over Singapore this week, as the cream of Malaysia’s air force dart the skies of their southern neighbor.
In a further sign of strengthening ties between the two countries, the Royal Malaysian Air Force has dispatched its aerobatic display team to the Singapore Airshow for the first time, where it has enthralled thousands of trade visitors so far with precise yet flamboyant flying.
Dubbed the “Smokey Bandits” for the signature smoke trails from their Russian-made MiG-29 fighter jets, the team is putting up daily displays this week off the Changi coastline in Singapore’s northeast, where the biennial aviation trade show is being held.
