Russia says US might use Kyrgyz airbase in Iran strike

Russia on Wednesday said it could not rule out allowing the United States to use the Manas airbase in ex-Soviet Kyrgyzstan for an eventual strike on Iran over its contested nuclear programme.
"It cannot be excluded that this site (the US Manas airbase at Bishkek airport) could be 

used in a potential conflict with Iran," foreign ministry spokesman Alexander Lukashevich told reporters, expressing hope that such an "apocalyptic scenario" would not be realised.
